A New Season of Drama and Laughter: Reality TV at Its Finest
The ladies from New York are back! This season was touted as the OG’s return. Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Dorinda Medley, Kristen Taekman, and Kelly Killoren Bensimon are all in the mix. Now, I know what you’re thinking—Kristen and Kelly don’t exactly scream “OG,” but they’re holding their own so far.
They head to St. Barths, Kelly’s infamous “Scary Island” from season 3. They’re staying in the same villa as in Season 5—think Luann’s pirate escapade. This should be interesting, to say the least.
The Ladies and Their Looks
All the ladies are beautiful in their own way. But let’s be real—Kelly needs to lay off the filler. Seriously, she doesn’t need it. It’s like putting frosting on a cake that’s already perfect.
Dice are rolled for room assignments. Dorinda wins the best room but trades it with Ramona and Sonja. Watching Dorinda try to find the bathroom in her room is comical. It’s like a scene out of a sitcom.
Luncheon Drama
During the first luncheon, Kristen drops the word “fired” on Dorinda. Surprise, surprise—Dorinda loses her shit! One moment she’s lovely, witty, and together, and the next, she’s crazy, delusional Dorinda. Andy Cohen was being very nice (or maybe very scared) when he told Dorinda she was “paused.” Hello, Dorinda, your ass was FIRED!
Dinner and Denials
Over dinner, Luann shares her “pirate story,” swearing she didn’t sleep with the Johnny Depp lookalike. Sonja questions her, saying Luann admitted to sleeping with him. Luann keeps denying it, but no one is buying it.
The next morning, Sonja and Ramona are hilarious as always, dealing with Sonja’s eye stye. They are the true “Lucy and Ethel.” Meanwhile, Kelly brings 98 pounds of swag bag products, which annoys Luanne.
Funny Stories and Surprises
Dorinda shares a funny story about Sonja staying in her apartment. It involves a couch, a cheap blanket, and Marley, the dog. We find out Ramona has a boyfriend, but for once, her lips are sealed. Ramona seems a bit more relaxed, not as manic as in the past. And this woman does not age! Kudos or “Kudooze” to her.
Kelly's Reflection
Kelly seems more grounded, but she’s in complete denial about what happened on “Scary Island.” She refuses to own her part in the drama. However, she does admit to not sharing much about her life during her first season on RHONY. We learn that she was in a “bad situation” with a boyfriend and now wishes she would have “come out with it.” It’s refreshing to see this different side of her. I was shocked by her openness.
Scandals and Young Men
Kristen’s husband’s “Dolly” (Ashley) Madison scandal comes up. She’s currently the only married one in this group. Looks like they worked it out. Then, a bunch of young men show up to “hang out” with the ladies. Several are younger than their own children. It’s a bit cringy. Well, more than a bit. Dorinda agrees, making several digs. Ramona plays a prank on Luanne that doesn’t quite hit the mark.
The Reality of Aging Gracefully
As we dive deeper into the season, it’s clear that aging gracefully is a theme. These women are navigating life’s ups and downs, and they’re doing it with style. They’ve got the wisdom of experience, but they’re not afraid to embrace their youthful sides. It’s a delicate balance, and they’re pulling it off—most of the time.
Looking Forward
All of this happens in the first two episodes. I’m really looking forward to this season. One thing is for certain—these women have chemistry. Undeniable chemistry.
So, grab your favorite snack, maybe a little something to elevate your viewing experience, and settle in. This season is bound to be a wild ride filled with laughter, drama, and maybe a few tears. And who knows? We might even get some life lessons along the way.
Let’s see how this all unfolds!
